Raise your hand if you can not believe that 2016 is basically over! Keep your hands raised if you’re also so ready for 2016 to be over!
SAME, you guys!
2016 has been a great year for me personally (can’t same the same for our country, but I digress…). I got and am succeeding in my post grad position. Accidentally Adulting is doing way better than I expected it to in its first year. And I feel that I am growing and developing emotionally, mentally, and as a business woman.
However, it’s so important to try to keep growing, and keep developing. So I have a few professional and personal goals for the coming year.
The start of a new year is always a time of self reflection. This leads to us wanting to make a positive change every new year. Since we’re all unique, these changes/resolutions are different for all of us.
There are a few resolutions we can all make to ensure that 2017 is the best year ever!
Did you know that October is Women’s Small Business month? I know the month is over, but it’s never too late to celebrate, right? Since I’ve started this blog I’ve worked with so many smart, funny, motivated, intelligent, bad-ass, girl bosses. A majority of the women who do what we do work extremely hard to grow and develop their brand, and small business.
One of the biggest criticisms Millennials face is that we’re lazy. But I’m pretty sure it wasn’t our generation that coined the saying “work smarter, not harder”. Am I right? Either way, we shouldn’t be condemned for finding innovative ways to get sh*t done. Now that there’s an app for literally everything, it really isn’t difficult to get things done without lifting a finger. So I’ve compiled a list of the 7 best apps for the lazy millennial in us all.
We’re basically already in the middle of fall. I can not believe how quickly time is flying! I’ve already done 3 of the things on this list. This weekend, Brendan and I will check pumpkin carving off of the list.
What do you guys want to do before fall is over? What have you guys already done?
In almost every case it is the temps goal to become a permanent employee. I’ve seen a lot of temps come and go. But I have also seen a few get asked to stay. For those of you who don’t know what a temp is, it is usually someone hired to fill in a position for a short period of time. Hence, that employee is temporary. Many companies work through temp agencies to find these employees. This benefits the company because they have the position filled, but they don’t have to provide the employee with permanent benefits such as healthcare, and retirement perks. Additionally, a temp can be let go at any time without any notice. It is a very precarious, and uncomfortable position to be in.
This post is for all of you who are temps trying to transition into a permanent employee.
In order to transition to a permanent position you must become the MOST VALUED TEMP (MVT). You can easily be the MVT by doing the following:
These days everyone is obsessed with getting rich. But what’s the point of getting rich, if you don’t stay rich? It’s all about cultivating the right habits. Hey everyone! This is hands down my favorite DIY to date! I hated the way my kitchen looked sooooo much. After watching YouTube videos, and reading blog posts for MONTHS, I finally decided to give my kitchen a simple, inexpensive update. I was able to make my kitchen feel light, bright, and modern without spending more than $200!!
I literally just decided that I’m going to start writing posts about my actual everyday experiences, and not just informational posts! So here’s my first “personal post”! I’ll quickly tell you guys about my first ever music festival experience.
Whoever said death and taxes are the only two certainties in life did not go to college, and most definitely did not go to law school. Write this down little ducklings, because there is in fact a third certainty in life. You will at some point in your life definitely have a mean teacher or professor. If you’re truly unlucky you may even have more than one in your lifetime.
