Accidentally Traveling: Atlanta

Accidentally Traveling: Atlanta

Yessss!! It’s happening!! I’m finally writing about our trip to Atlanta and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park!

This wasn’t just a random trip. Every couple of years my family throws a huge family reunion. At the end of every family reunion we vote on the location of the next reunion. In 2015 the family reunion was in Jamaica ( SO FREAKING FUN) and at the end of that trip we voted for Atlanta to host the next reunion. So Brendan and I knew way in advance that we’d be going to Atlanta. If you follow me on Instagram (@accidntal_adult) then you know that we’ve been hiking like crazy this summer. Once our trip got a little closer Brendan started researching places to hike nearby the reunion. I’ll tell you all about the hike in the next post. This post will focus entirely on what we did in Atlanta.

The first thing we did in Georgia was to go to a farm! On the plane ride into Georgia we both realized that we’ve never had a peach in Georgia. And Georgia is known for its peaches. We decided we definitely wanted to pick and eat a fresh peach in Georgia. Once we landed we decided to visit Southern Belle farm. You guys, it’s the CUTEST farm ever!!

They had everything! Peaches, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, goats, chickens, pigs, cows, and a donkey! The whole experience was super cute!

It wasn’t until we were in Atlanta that we both remembered that it was where MLK lived. We visited the church where he preached:

I was super emotional about it. It was such a surreal feeling to be in the rom where he preached.

We visited the museum which is essentially a lifesize timeline of his life:

And we were able to see the tomb of him and his wife. Right across from the tomb is an eternal flame in his honor.

The following day we visited this insane cemetery. It had so many beautiful gravestones!

And on our final day in Atlanta we hiked a little tiny mountain while we were killing time between family reunion events! Hiking in a dress is my new favorite thing.

Well that’s it!! That’s most of what we did while in Atlanta! If you wanna see more you can always watch the vlog! I upload new vlogs weekly (every Friday)! It’s the easiest way to stay up to date with everything Accidentally Adulting, so go check it out! And follow me on Instagram (@accidntal_adult) the second easiest way to stay up to date!
